Reverse Vanilla Iced Latte

With this current heat wave across the country, nothing sounds more refreshing than an iced coffee. You could take the easy way out and pour your regular pot of coffee over ice and add milk, but that leaves you with a diluted mixture. The new and improved way to make iced coffee is to pour a pot of coffee into ice cube trays and freeze them overnight. If you haven’t tried this genius method yet, now is the time!


Supplies for a week of iced coffee

-       Three ice trays

-       Carton of original almond milk

-       Vanilla extract

-       Coffee grounds of choice


Ingredients for each cup

-       7 frozen coffee cubes

-       ½ cup almond milk

-       ½ cup chilled coffee

-       1/8 tsp. vanilla extract



Make a large pot of coffee on a Sunday afternoon. After it finishes brewing, turn it off and let it sit for two hours. Pour coffee into three ice cube trays and place them in the freezer. This should be enough ice cubes for the whole week. Put the leftover coffee in a small pitcher and place in the fridge. Now you are prepared to make the iced coffee in the morning! You may need to make another pot of coffee a few days later and chill over night.


Follow these steps to make the iced coffee in the morning:


1. Fill your tumbler with seven ice cubes.

2. Pour in chilled coffee to the halfway point.

3. Fill the rest of the glass with almond milk.

4. Add 1/8 tsp. of vanilla extract.

5. Stir and enjoy immediately!
